Known for her experience with new work, Emily has been acting since age ten when she started at San Diego Junior Theatre. While in high school she did two summers of La Jolla Playhouse Young Performers Conservatory, foundational and joyful experiences that she still incorporates into her process today. While she first fell in love with acting by watching Hannah Montana because she was fascinated by the idea of pretending to be someone else, over time she grew to love and respect the amount of work that goes into bringing truth into imaginary circumstances.
Emily became interested in directing when she saw Paint the Night at Disneyland. At that time she began watching Scandal, her favorite show of all time, and loved how its actors also directed episodes. Both of these gave her an appreciation for creative vision and how directors have the opportunity to guide material with a lasting impact, starting her love for dramaturgy. During her time in college she became incredibly passionate about worker’s rights and creating great working conditions for others, a care that led her to 1st AD-ing and casting (resume available upon request).
When she's not making art, Emily is probably listening to The Phantom of the Opera or beating you on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland.
